Nampur Brisa

Arraial d'Ajuda, Bahia

Brisa, in Portuguese, is a word synonymous with the breeze in Northeast Brazil, which breathes an air of tranquility when entering this magical place. Home to one of the most beautiful and delightful pousadas (guest houses) in the south of Bahia in the 1980s, just a few steps from the charming center of Arraial d'Ajuda, an incredible energy pulses through these properties. Disconnect yourself from reality by taking in the view of the ocean and, at the same time, the Buranhém river, which borders a beautiful mangrove. A show in itself is the definition of Nampur Brisa.

It was love at first sight for the renowned architect from Bahia, Caio Bandeira (Architects + CO), when he visited the place. This small instance inspired the entire design for these unique residences. To complete the scenery perfectly and create something truly striking, we challenged Luiz Carlos Orsini, who boasts nearly 40 years of landscaping experience, to ensure a truly magical atmosphere. The result couldn't be better: architecture designed so that all the residences enjoy the maximum potential of their location, integrated with impeccable lush green vegetation.

The properties are topped with single sloped roofs, the design of which was inspired by the wings of the birds that fly over the region. The Atlantic forest species, used to the climate and soil, create a symbiosis with the design and its vegetation.

With wood as the lead role, burnished concrete makes an appearance on the floors and countertops in the bathrooms. While natural palm fiber matting lines the ceilings and fittings, promoting craftspeople and the local workforce.

Continuing with the concept of sustainability, the timber comes from eucalyptus reforestation from the south of Bahia itself. Enjoy the proximity with the sea and the main central points of Arraial d'Ajuda.
